Skechers sues Slip-Ins brand for patent infringement

Skechers USA Inc. accused four companies of creating counterfeit shoes, buying online ads to trick customers into buying them, and infringing patents on the Slip in shoe line.

Colorado-based STQ Global Inc., its Chinese parent, a Chinese affiliate, and French firm Siki Eagle Sarl committed “numerous acts of intellectual property infringement,” according to complaint the lawsuit was filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado.

Starting around 2021, STQ has featured a logo on its athletic shoes that is “essentially a stylized S, the proportions and thickness of which are similar (if not nearly identical) to numerous logos used by Skechers.”
