Electric vehicles are gaining traction, but questions still remain about how people living in busy cities and apartment buildings can more easily charge their cars.

Beam Global may have found a solution. The company recently released BeamSpot, an electric vehicle charger powered by solar and wind energy that can replace street lights on city streets, apartment complexes, shopping malls and airports.

How Inside EVs reportsCurbside chargers generate most of the electricity by solar panels and a wind turbine, which is then stored in built-in batteries. Plus, since they plan to replace street lights, installing them requires less effort than traditional EV chargers.

If you were looking to buy an electric car, which of these factors would be most important to you?

Installing more curbside charging points could be a game changer for electric vehicles. While electric cars are easy to charge for people who have their own driveway or garage, people living in busy cities and apartment complexes have a harder time finding charging points. This decision will make electric vehicles a more attractive option for people who do not have easy access to a charging point, potentially increasing the uptake of electric vehicles.

Switching to an electric car may have a number of benefits for drivers. Firstly, they cheaper to operate and maintenance than traditional fuel-powered vehicles. This is because they have far fewer moving parts and fewer components requiring maintenance. Charging is also much cheaper than refueling, and the price of electricity is usually stable. More and more charging stations are being deployed across the US, making it easier to travel long distances in an electric vehicle.

Electric cars are also better for the environment and our health. While there are some concerns about battery production, the pollution and waste generated during the process is still far less than running a gasoline or diesel vehicle.

In addition, the harmful pollutants generated by driving a fuel-powered vehicle negatively affect people’s health – so much so that Stockholm, Swedenannounced that by 2025 it will be illegal to drive petrol or diesel vehicles in the city.

Beam Global hopes BeamSpot will help make electric vehicles more accessible, helping more people switch to electric cars and save money.

Beam Global CEO Desmond Wheatley: says the statement“We believe our BeamSpot product line will solve real problems in both America and Europe by increasing access to charging where people need it most: on street sidewalks and in parking lots.”
