Orlando mayor says this will be key to hosting Jacksonville Jaguars games in 2027

Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said the sweeping agreement with the county will help it become the temporary home of the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars.

On Nov. 4, the city approved a deal with Orange County that ended the addition of the 52,000-acre Deseret Ranch to Orlando’s borders. Among the terms of the agreement was that the county would retain tourism development tax revenues of $400 million for modernization for Camping World Stadium and $226 million for the Kia Center.

Orange County plans to review the agreements at its Nov. 19 meeting. The city is currently competing with Gainesville to host the Jaguars in 2027 while the team’s home stadium undergoes renovations. $1.4 billion renovation.
