5 Improved PS5 Pro Games You Need to Play First

PS5 Pro has arrived offering the best gaming experience in many ways best games for ps5. Actually, Sony confirmed more than 50 games it’s PS5 Pro Enhanced from day one (i.e. launch day, November 7th). Each of these PS5 games has been enhanced with the extra power of Pro. This could be higher frame rates, higher resolution, or even new ray tracing features thanks to PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR).

With so many PS5 Pro Enhanced games already confirmed (and the list growing quickly), you might have a hard time deciding which one to play first on your shiny new PlayStation console. I was lucky enough to get access to the PS5 Pro a little early and was looking through the list of games for the PS5 Pro Enhanced. While I’ve generally been impressed with (almost) every game I’ve tried on the PS5 Pro, these are the five that blew me away the most.

Before I get to my picks, these are the games that I think best showcase the PS5 Pro’s extra capabilities – not necessarily mine. Darling PS5 games with Pro Enhanced support. But by happy coincidence, all five events are also quite fantastic.

Demon Souls

A stunning remake of the cult classic FromSoftware from Bluepoint Games Demon Souls was the best showcase of the base PS5’s power at launch, and four years later it remains technical be surprised on PS5 Pro it’s now even more beautiful.

One of the key reasons to try Demon’s Souls on PS5 Pro first is that you get a resolution boost similar to Fidelity mode on PS5, but at 60fps rather than the previous 30fps cap. In a game as complex as Demon’s Souls, where every frame counts, playing in Performance mode was practically a requirement, so offering the best of both worlds, the new Pro mode is a chance to see Boletaria at its most visually striking, but without having to pay the price of reduced frame rates.

Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2 it was already a very cinematic experience with several sequences that looked damn near photorealistic, especially if you happened to play the game on an OLED TV where the blacks could get very dark.

It’s fair to say that Alan Wake 2 didn’t need an image quality boost, but it’s the perfect game to show off the PS5 Pro’s ray tracing capabilities. Head to the Oh Deer Diner in Bright Falls and you’ll lose a few minutes just walking back and forth in front of the windows, looking at the realistic reflections.

Spider-Man Marvel 2

Speaking of the PS5 Pro’s ray tracing features, it’s in full swing. Spider-Man Marvel 2. This superhero sequel is one of the best exclusives on PS5, and the development wizards at Insomniac have already seemingly squeezed out all the power of the base PS5. So they harnessed the extra power of the PS5 Pro to ensure that every reflective surface in the game’s New York City maps (and there are a hell of a lot of skyscrapers wrapped in glass) more accurately reflects the world around them. Plus, thanks to the PS5 Pro, we finally get the reflective puddles we were promised back in 2017.

Spider-Man 2 was already a game I returned to often just to wander around New York City, and thanks to the PS5 Pro, virtual sightseeing as Spidey has never been more appealing.

The Last of Us Part I

The Last of Us Part I (or alternatively The Last of Us Part 2 Update) is a great game to see the improved visual quality made possible by the PS5 Pro. During my first testing session with the Pro, I selected the Bill’s Town section of the game and spent nearly 30 minutes just aiming down the sights of my pistol and identifying all the places where the textures on the standard PS5 went from slightly blurry to laser-like. sharp on PS5 Pro. This was especially noticeable in the overgrown flora emerging through cracks in the concrete sidewalks.

Of course, the only problem with diving into The Last of Us Part I, to check out the stunning 4K quality at upscaled resolution (a feat courtesy of PSSR), brings you back into this world and will have you wanting to replay the entire game again.

Horizon Zero Dawn: Update

The recently released Horizon Zero Dawn: Remastered is an unexpectedly fantastic reworking of one of the best games for PS4. Possibly bordering on a complete remake (not just a remaster), Horizon: Zero Dawn It’s never looked this good, whether you’re playing on PS5 Pro or the base model PS5.

While I only briefly returned to the game’s future land, which has been reclaimed by nature and overrun by robotic creatures, it offers some stunning vantage points that allow you to see how the PS5 Pro’s extra features are put to good use. It also has some of the best lighting effects I’ve ever seen on the PS5 Pro.
