Trump plans to sharply tighten protectionist trade policies in his first term, threatening to impose tariffs of more than 10 percent on all foreign imports and perhaps even imposing tariffs on all foreign imports. 100% tariff for some Chinese-made goods.

The Justice Department’s tradition of political independence has been a hallmark of the post-Watergate era, but Trump predicted Hewitt would not face any consequences for intervening. “I don’t think they’ll impeach me if I fire Jack Smith,” he said.

Trump has also pledged to oversee the Justice Department by seeking pardons or releases for convicted rioters serving sentences for their roles in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.

Harassment of opponents

Trump has not ruled out ordering federal prosecutors to prosecute or fire him. those who do not follow his instructions. “It will depend on the situation,” he said.
