Warning: Spoilers ahead for Season 1 of Agatha’s All Together.

If I had to name a big TV surprise premiering in the second half of 2024, it would be Agatha all together. Of course, I’ve enjoyed quite a few Disney+ shows from Marvel Studios in the past, but we’ve been bummed about the whole thing for a while now, and it seemed like this particular series was getting closer. too late after WandaVision wowed most viewers at the beginning of 2021.

With the entire season (planned to be a limited series) behind us, it’s time to reflect and discuss what Agatha’s on-screen future might look like and (redacted) after the finale left the door wide open and completely closed this dual character arc in a satisfying way. For Marvel.comseries creator Jac Schaeffer had a few answers… as well as one vague hint.

“What I love about episode nine is that we’re going all the way through her truth… This character was presented as a walking lie. The show is a lie in many ways: it is very theatrical and very much performative. and about wearing masks and costumes,” Schaeffer said of the ending, which was strange because it served as an epilogue for both Billy Maximoff and Agatha Harkness, giving both characters enough room to breathe and grow a little further after the main plot. was wrapped.

Indeed, the ending allowed Kathryn Hahn to do something completely different with the twisted witch as we learned more about her. her relationship with death (Aubrey Plaza) and the death of his son, Nicholas Scratch. The writers also didn’t let Harkness get away with all the evil she caused; she gets the (beautiful) death she deserves, but that doesn’t mean her journey is over. Her new ghostly form will remind many MCU fans, gamers and comic book readers of her role in Midnight Sunsand this opens up many intriguing possibilities for the more fantastical and magical side of the universe.

“It wasn’t about killing off a character… It was about evolving that character,” the showrunner teased, largely confirming afterwards that there’s more to come, be it a surprise second season or a role elsewhere, especially now that she joins Billy (aka Wiccan) as he searches for his lost twin, Tommy. “I still feel like there is still a path to explore with Agatha as a ghost… Get ready.” We hope she can mentor and guide the Midnight Sons whenever they come together in the MCU.
