Ruben Amorim bids farewell to Ten Hag

Ruben Amorim is set to become Manchester United’s new signing next week and reports suggest his appointment could have implications for Andre Onana.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper has made some big mistakes since joining the Red Devils from Inter Milan in 2023, but his form has improved this season.

Erik ten Hag suffered sanctions Onana £47million will move to Old Trafford to replace David de Gea and Amorim is now believed to be ready to offload him in a shock move.

Report referenced Football365 states that “doesn’t want Onana” and is ready to say “goodbye” goalkeeper in the January transfer window.

Amorim is said to have “not hesitated to point out that certain aspects of the squad need to change” and Onana is “the first player not to be part of his plans”.

Considering that Onana was one of the Manchester UnitedDespite his outstanding achievements over the past 12 months, it is difficult to imagine a scenario in which Onana is replaced in 2025, but the report claims his “future is in doubt” as Amorim is “unconvinced”.

Amorim is ready to dissolve the Manchester United quartet – sources

Sources told TEAMtalk that Amorim has He has already discussed his transfer plans in detail with the Manchester United hierarchy as he looks to build a team capable of challenging for trophies.

We understand Amorim has identified four Manchester United players he is “not interested in” and is willing to sell them in January. However, according to our information, Onana is not one of them.

This winter, Amorim signaled his willingness to sell Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, Anthony and Casemiro. Eriksen and Lindelof are out of contract at the end of the season and will be allowed to leave on free transfers if there are no bids for them in January.

Manchester United management agree with Amorim that the performances of Anthony and Casemiro do not reflect their huge salaries of £200,000 and £350,000 a week respectively.

The club are therefore prepared to sell both players this winter for around £25m. We understand Amorim would like to sign Sporting star Marcus Edwards to replace Anthony, while fellow Sporting strikers Giovani Kenda and Pedro Goncalves are also on his shortlist.

Given this, we believe it is unlikely that Onana will leave Manchester United in January, contrary to the report. However, back-up goalkeeper Altay Bayindir could leave as he is reportedly frustrated with his lack of playing time.

Manchester United review: Race to sign Kenda heats up / Will Carreras return?

Meanwhile, Manchester United face stiff competition for Sporting striker Kenda, who stunned Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Sources exclusively told TEAMtalk that Arsenal have approached Kenda’s agents in recent days to gauge his interest in a move to the Emirates.

We understand that Manchester City, Liverpool, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus are also interested in the 17-year-old striker.

Amorim is a big fan of the teenager and is keen to reunite with him at Old Trafford, but Manchester United will have to act quickly to get a deal done.

Kenda’s deal includes a €100m (£84m/$104m) buyout clause. Sporting are reluctant to sell him in January, but that could change next summer if his offer comes close to his exit clause.

In other news TEAMtalk can exclusively reveal that Manchester United are considering invoking the release clause of former player Alvaro Carreras.but for some time they will not be able to call him.

Despite long-term injuries to key left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malasia, Manchester United decided to sell the 21-year-old to Benfica in the summer for a fee of up to €9 million (£7.5 million, $9.7 million). .

TEAMtalk can confirm that Manchester United have a buyout clause that will cost them approximately £16 million (€19.2 million, $20.7 million). However, it is understood that a January move is very unlikely and if the clause is activated, it would likely come into force in the summer of 2025 or later.
