Hy-Vee to Host 25th Annual Veterans Day Breakfast

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – In memory of veterans and active military personnel; Hy-Vee will celebrate Veterans Day with breakfast.

This year marks the breakfast’s 25th anniversary since it began in Missouri in 1999, according to a Hy-Vee press release.

The company says this year’s free breakfast buffet will take place on Monday, November 11th from 6 to 10 a.m. at all Hy-Vee stores.

The company also says veterans and active military personnel will also receive a 15% discount on grocery purchases on Nov. 11 at Hy-Vee, Dollar Fresh Market and Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh stores.

Hy-Vee Homefront Review

In addition to breakfast, Hy-Vee will also be hosting a walk-through tour of the Hy-Vee Homefront.

The review provides an opportunity for Hy-Vee to join forces with the community to support organizations that serve veterans and active-duty military personnel along with their families. Hy-Vee says stores will match customer donations up to $100,000.

Proceeds from the donation will benefit the following organizations:

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Veterans Day breakfast, H-Vee will host special displays and memorials at select Hy-Vee locations.

Spirit of Iowa Tour

The Spirit of Iowa Tribute Bell Tour will be in Grimes, Iowa Hy-Vee at 351 NE Gateway Drive. The company says the bell symbolizes support for military veterans and military personnel throughout the state of Iowa.

According to Hy-Vee, the event serves as a way to remember and honor veterans and their military accomplishments.

“Remembering our fallen” – Memorial exhibition

The memorial exhibit is a traveling collection of photographs dedicated to the memory and honor of those who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Hy-Vee says the exhibit recognizes the sacrifices of fallen military members and supports members of the Gold Star family.

The display will be featured in select stores in Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska.

In Nebraska, the exhibit can be found at the Papillion Hy-Vee store at 11650 S. 73rd Street in Papillion, Nebraska.
