Ludhiana: Another incident of violence was reported from a civil hospital where several men allegedly attacked a young man wearing shoes. They also hit him in the emergency room on Wednesday night. The incident took place around 11:30 pm when 10 to 12 people allegedly attacked a man who had come to seek medical attention for injuries sustained during an encounter in Haibowal.
The ASI, constable and security guards stationed at the emergency ward of the hospital reportedly tried to mediate but the assailants did not relent. The accused alleged that the man attacked their family members and injured six people, including three women, after which he went to the hospital for medical treatment.
Lalit Mohan, a resident of Haibowal Bank Colony, said his son was parking his car outside his house on Wednesday evening when a flower pot fell from a neighbor’s window sill. He alleged that the woman living in the house was abusing him and his family members tied him down when he came to talk to her after work around 10 pm.
He alleged that when he went to the emergency department of the civil hospital for treatment at 11:30 pm, he was attacked by members of the other party who were already in the ward. Two such incidents were reported at the civil hospital on the night of November 2-3. In the first case, ASI Munir Masih was allegedly slapped by a man after he asked them to wait outside due to rush in an emergency situation. In another incident, two friends got into a fight after allegedly getting drunk on the Haibowal Jassiyan road. They arrived at the hospital, where they fought again.
