How to Easily Record Phone Conversations on iPhone

With the release of iOS 18.1, Apple introduced native call recording as part of Apple Intelligence. This new feature makes it easier to document important conversations.   • Open Settings
  • Tap General
  • Choose Software update
  • If available, click Update now and start downloading and installing iOS 18.1.

How to record a call on iPhone

Now let’s move on to the most interesting part – the actual call recording. Here’s how it works:

  • Start or answer a call call as usual.
  • Search new recording icon in the upper left corner of the call screen.
  • Click on it icon to start recording.
  • You will hear countdown after three seconds, followed by audio message saying, “This call will be recorded.”
  • A notification A pop-up window will appear to let everyone in the call know it is being recorded.
  • After recording starts Notification about notes A message will appear at the top of the screen alerting you that a new note has been created for this transcript.
  • Hit stop button To end the call at any time, you’ll hear another message: “This call is no longer being recorded.”

How to access your entry

After successfully recording a conversation, follow these steps to access and manage the recording:

  • Search notification from the Notes app, giving you the audio file and transcript.
  • Click on notification to open the entry directly in Notes, or open Notes app review later.
  • In the Notes app, find your notes in a new folder called “Conversation recordings.”
  • Tap a note to view the transcript. Here you can:
    • Listen to the audio from the beginning by clicking Play
    • Scroll down and tap transcript to start playback from a certain point
    • Click on offer to start playback from there
    • Pause playback at any time by pressing the play button

How to add a copy of the transcript to a note for editing

  • Click on menu button
  • Choose Add transcript to note
  • Edit transcript if necessary, for example, highlighting important sentences
  • Share the post by clicking the icon send button.
  • Tap Made.
