Police are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run that left a 66-year-old man in critical condition.

NORWICH, CT (WFSB) – Norwich police are looking for the man responsible for hitting a 66-year-old pedestrian with his car.

Tuesday, police responded to a report of a pedestrian being hit by a car at 655 East Main Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 66-year-old man with injuries to his head and torso.

He was transported to William W. Backus Hospital and then to Hartford Hospital. According to police, he is in critical condition.

The vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene before police arrived. Police have no information matching his description.
