Wayne County gears up for annual pitch competition, showcasing local innovation

Wayne County’s premier event for aspiring entrepreneurs is set for Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES Conference Center in Newark. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., the Wayne County Pitch Competition will feature five finalists pitching their business ideas to a panel of judges, all vying for the $20,000 grand prize.

The competition, sponsored by the Wayne Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), is a highlight of its programs aimed at stimulating local economic growth. “This event provides entrepreneurs with invaluable feedback, networking opportunities and a chance to receive financial support,” said WEDC Director Brian Pincelli.

In addition to the grand prize, a $5,000 award will be given to the finalist whose business needs less financial incentive, further enhancing the competition’s impact on local business growth. Attendees will be treated to an evening filled with innovation and community spirit, and the finalists’ ideas will inspire others contemplating their own business trips.

For those unable to attend in person, WEDC will livestream the event on its Facebook and YouTube channels, allowing the community to support these visionaries from afar.
