However, public relations expert Ed Coram James suggests their individual public appearances do not indicate any personal problems. Instead, he believes it’s a strategic move to distance their individual brands from what has become a “toxic” image following their infamous Oprah interview.

The Sussexes certainly attracted attention when they left London, especially after the interview with Oprah Winfrey and the subsequent documentary in which they took aim at the royal family and the British media, as well as Harry’s memoirs. However, a PR expert speaking to GB News suggests it is part of a wider strategy to change the perception of their brand, which some see as “toxic”. Lately, they have both been focusing on solo projects.

James noted that since they got married, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have created a special image based on their togetherness. He mentioned that they had always been treated as one big team, whether it was Harry and Meghan or the Sussexes, and that their personalities had become deeply intertwined over the years.

“Because famous Oprah In an interview in which they exposed the growing discord between themselves and the rest of the royal family and essentially declared all-out war, this brand is steadily becoming more toxic,” James said, noting how the brand’s image has changed over the years.

The expert believes the Sussexes’ joint brand has become toxic in the public eye, but if they act separately, they have the potential to create unique, more marketable personalities.

The expert also noted that the ongoing marriage speculation, especially rumors of separation and divorce, has taken its toll on Meghan as she feels “stressed” and completely exhausted.

“They haven’t done themselves any favors by doing so many separate events, but they’ve decided to do this because it suits them best as a couple at the moment and they both feel they can shine at events that are close to their hearts.”

Harry has been busy promoting new initiatives in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana. Meanwhile, Meghan is focusing on her lifestyle brand, which she is about to launch after running into some trademark issues. Reports suggest she is also working on a personal memoir, potentially even more explosive than Spare Harry. The Sussexes are also developing standalone projects for Netflix following the record-breaking success of their debut show on the platform.
