“You just challenge them,” says Mr. Muir, “because if you don’t challenge them, there will be anarchy…

“They might pull a knife on you because it just grows and grows.”

College students Mustafa Seedat, 19, and Archie McNeil, 18, were impressed by the way Mr Muir de-escalated one situation.

“They genuinely wanted to help us,” says Mr. Seedat, “to keep us safe on the streets.”
