Kenan Yildiz fought Juventus back from a two-goal deficit to draw 4-4 in a stunning performance at Inter Milan on Sunday, allowing Napoli to extend their Serie A lead to four points. Turkish star Yildiz came off the bench about half an hour before a packed and pulsating San Siro to bring third-place Juventus back from the dead with two superb goals in the final 20 minutes.

The 19-year-old stunned more than 70,000 home fans who were convinced they were watching their side claim the Scudetto when Denzel Dumfries scored what looked like Inter’s decisive fourth goal in the 53rd minute.

“Today I was very happy to score my first and second goals, including against such a big team as Inter. I hope it continues like this,” Yildiz told DAZN, adding that he believes in Juventus’ chances of winning the title.

“We always hope, but the season is still long, we want to give it our all and I hope everything goes well in the end.”

And while both sides lost ground against Napoli, it was champions Inter, in second, who will feel the pain most of Sunday’s draw, missing numerous chances after Dumfries’ strike.

Inter went two ahead thanks to Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s beautiful strike and two Piotr Zielinski penalties, all in the first half, before Dumfries’ low score.

Inter’s “lesson”

They came close to taking the points through Federico Dimarco, Nicolo Barella and Lautaro Martinez, but were caught twice at half-time by Yildiz, whose brace was also his first goal of the season.

“We deserved to score seven or eight goals against a team that had conceded one goal in eight games,” Inzaghi said.

“You can’t concede four goals from four shots on target… This will serve as a lesson for us.”

Juventus remain third, another point off title pace, after showing a huge fight to bounce back and take a precious draw from their fiercest rivals.

Thiago Motta’s side, having lost a host of first-choice players, had already bounced back from Zielinski’s first penalty thanks to tackles from Dusan Vlahovic and Timothy Weah.

Former Inter midfielder Motta, who won the 2010 Champions League with the Nerazzurri, made the right changes while Yann Bissek’s poor performance in place of Benjamin Pavard contributed to Juventus’ stunning comeback.

“We had the right mindset and the right mindset and we even tried to get the win at the end,” Motta said.

“We need to understand why sometimes we play brilliantly and at other times it seems like our opponents are dominating us.”

Roma is collapsing

Crisis club Roma suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat at the hands of Fiorentina, leaving Ivan Juric at risk of being sacked just a month after he replaced Daniele De Rossi on the capital club’s bench.

Roma are in 11th place with just 10 points after a terrible night in Florence in which everything went wrong: they were two goals down in 17 minutes through strikes from Moise Kean and Lucas Beltran and never recovered from that early start. blow.

The visitors were briefly in the game when Manu Kone scored in the 39th minute, but moments later Keane scored his second goal of the night.

A disappointing evening ended with Roma youth product Edoardo Bove’s fourth goal, while Mats Hummels nodded into his own goal just four minutes after making his debut for the club from the bench after Mario Hermoso was sent off.

Roma’s dismal season has only been made worse by the superb form of local rivals Lazio, their latest 3-0 win over injury-hit Genoa.

Lazio are level on 16 points, with fourth-placed Fiorentina, Atalanta and Udinese all one behind Juventus after Tijani Noslin’s poor attack and low finish in 21st The minute was followed by late strikes from Pedro and Matias Vecino.

Genoa, meanwhile, sit third from bottom after a seven-match winless run in which they have lost five times. They are set to sign Mario Balotelli on Monday to try to solve the injury problem that has undermined their attack.
