These freeways in Phoenix will be partially closed this weekend

PHOENIX (AZ Family) — Getting around central and eastern Phoenix will be extra difficult for drivers this weekend.

Portions of Interstate 10, Interstate 17, Loop 101 and State Route 51 will be closed Friday through Sunday.

Here is the closing view:

  • Eastbound I-10 will be closed between the SR 51 “Mini-Stack” interchange and US 60 (Superstition Highway) from 10 PM Friday until 4 AM Monday for work on I-10. Broadway Curve Improvement Project.
  • Westbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Expressway) will be closed between 19th and 51st streets from 10 PM Friday until 5 AM Monday due to the widening project.
  • Southbound Loop 101 (Pima Highway) will be closed between Pima Road/Princess Drive and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard for the widening project from 10 PM Friday until 5 AM Monday.
  • Southbound state Route 51 will be closed between Loop 101 in north Phoenix and the I-10/Loop 202 “Mini-Stack” near downtown from 9 p.m. Friday until 9 p.m. Saturday. Crews will reopen southbound SR 51 in sections on Saturday as paving work progresses.
  • Southbound I-17 was closed between Peoria Boulevard and Indian School Road for a sidewalk closure from 9 p.m. Saturday until 9 a.m. Sunday. Crews will reopen southbound I-17 in sections as work continues Sunday.
