A 25-minute walk from Dodger Stadium to Chinatown? Los Angeles Metro says it’s possible.

2024 World Series between Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Yankees begin Friday at Dodger Stadium. Getting in and out of Chavez Gulch is expected to be a traffic nightmare. Los Angeles Metro have caused quite a stir with their recommendations to fans.

“If you’re heading to Union Station and don’t want to wait, you can walk 1.2 miles downhill to Chinatown Station on the A Line—one stop from Union Station,” Metro wrote in a social media caption along with aerial view of the city. the route he proposed.

This post confused fans.

“Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should,” one fan said in response.

“It’s like a video game where you’re trying to stay alive,” another fan added.

Damian Kevitt, chief executive of Streets for All, said the route presented some challenges.

“There are no sidewalks in some areas. You’re walking down a road that’s somewhat separated from traffic, but it’s not. You are not on the sidewalk. And there are intersection points where you have a lot of cars turning left and right. Again, my concern is driver awareness,” Kevitt explained.

FOX 11’s Chelsea Edwards checked out the proposed route and made a few observations along the way.

Edwards noted the lack of lighting, lack of adequate sidewalks and lack of crosswalks on some sections of that street. She noted that although the entire walk is downhill, it requires a lot of concentration and anyone doing it must constantly pay attention to cars passing by. Additionally, none of them are wheelchair accessible.

Overall, she completed it in 19 minutes.

If you are physically ready to take this walk, do it. You’ll get out of Dodger Stadium a lot faster than other cars,” Kevitt said.

If you don’t want to walk, the metro has a free shuttle.

“Metro knows and understands the public’s concerns about the pedestrian walkway from Dodger Stadium to our A Line station in Chinatown. Some game-goers do use this route, but our recommended transportation option to and from Dodger Stadium is the free Dodger Stadium Express, which Metro operates roundtrip from Los Angeles Union Station and the Harbor Gateway Transit Center in South America. Bay. Our express service is by far the easiest way to leave your car at home, take the subway, and enjoy frequent, safe, free and affordable travel for all. “The Dodgers beat the New York Yankees,” Metro said in a statement.
