Warm end of October, despite the imminent passage of a weak front

MOBILE, Alas. (VALA) – Happy Friday, Gulf Coast! Temperatures will again be near record levels this afternoon. Hot days will continue throughout the weekend ahead of a weak front moving in late Sunday and moving into Monday. This front will not be strong enough to bring cooler air. However, this will only reduce our temperature by a few degrees. Next week, highs will move into the upper 80s to mid to lower 80s.

Looking forward to the Halloween forecast, daytime temperatures look to remain in the 80s. The evening should still be pleasant, but a change in wind direction from the south will bring a little more humid air to our area.

TODAY:

Another day of near-record temperatures is expected on Friday. The afternoon will be sunny and warm with temperatures near 90° across much of our area. Temperatures on the beaches will be in the 80s. To date, the risk of reverse flows is small.

Temperatures will drop into the 70s and 60s after sunset during evening football. This will mean very pleasant conditions for football along the coast. Skies will be mostly clear this evening and overnight.

Overnight temperatures will drop into the 50s inland and into the 60s right along the coast.

THIS WEEKEND:

Warm temperatures will continue into the weekend. Saturday will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the upper 80s. There’s a front approaching our area Sunday, so we’re expecting a few more clouds in the sky. However, temperatures will continue to be very warm with temperatures approaching 90°. Lows each day will be around 60°.

NEXT WEEK:

Despite the passage of the front on Monday, we expect the dry and warm weather to continue. This front will cause temperatures to drop several degrees next week. Highs will be in the 80s. Morning lows will remain very mild, around 60°. Later in the week the image becomes wetter, so it appears less crisp and cool each morning. Around the middle of next week we will also see a change in wind direction and an increased risk of rip currents.
