The last Saturday of October has arrived. It’s crazy to think that we’re almost into Halloween and then into November with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner. The year is almost over! Elections are also almost upon us. Busy days ahead.

Either way, we can forget about all this and focus on something more immediate: today’s Wordle!

Today is not a scary guessing game. This was a bit of a difficult Wordle! My first option, STARE, left me with only 80 solutions left, and DREAM lined up three yellow squares into three green ones, which was nice. I only had four words left, and I came up with: BREAKING, MORNING, DEADLINE and SCREAMING. I decided it would be stupid to guess any of this and decided to pick a word that had at least a couple of possible letters – B, F, W and K. FOULS dug up the letter W and gave me the answer: WREAK for the win.

Total wash. 0 for guessing with a B and 0 for bot binding. Well then!

How to Play Competitive Wordle

A guess of 1 is worth 3 points; guessing 2 is worth 2 points; guessing out of 3 is worth 1 point; guessing 4 is scored 0 points; guess by 5 – -1 point; guessing 6 is -2 points, and missing a word is -3 points.
If you defeat your opponent, you will receive 1 point. If you tie the score, you will receive 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you will receive -1 point. Add this to get your result. Keep a daily running score or just play to get a new score every day.
Fridays are 2XP, meaning you double your points – positive or negative.

Today’s Wordle Etymology

Word sow comes from Old English breakwhich means “to drive, push, retaliate or punish.” It is related to Old Norse river and gothic breakwhich also means “to drive” or “to pursue.” The word has come to mean “to inflict” or “to cause”, especially in the context of harm or revenge.
