Predictions for the match “Bologna” – “Milan”

Bologna finished fifth in Serie A last season, claiming the extra Champions League spot that Serie A received thanks to the tournament’s expansion.

The success of last season led to Rossoblu leaving his head coach Thiago Motta for Juventus. Vincenzo Italiano took his place and it is fair to say that things did not go well for the former Fiorentina coach.

Bologna are 12th in Serie A with nine points from eight matches. But to make matters worse, they have only won one league game this season.

Turning draws into wins is the biggest challenge. In defense, Italiano Bologna lost only once. But when you add three winless Champions League results to one Serie A win, it’s easy to see why the new manager is already under pressure.

In their last Serie A match, Bologna drew 2-2 with Genoa last Saturday. On paper this may seem like a good result. But they were leading 2-0 with less than 20 minutes to play.

The Rossoblu followed this up with a 2-0 defeat away to Aston Villa in the Champions League. Statistics show that Italiano’s team has achieved success. But the facts are that Bologna never looked like they were going to get anything out of the match.

Milan also had a bad start to the season.

The Rossoneri are fourth in Serie A with 14 points from eight matches. Milan won four matches, drew two and lost two.

Milan’s main difficulties began on the road. At home they won three of their four national championship matches. Only Torino prevented Paulo Fonseca’s team from winning all four matches. They drew 2-2 with the Rossoneri on the opening weekend of the season.

But Milan have won their last two matches and things are starting to look up for Fonseca’s team.

They beat Udinese 1-0 at home in Serie A on Saturday and followed that up with a 3-1 Champions League win over Club Brugge on Tuesday.

A win over Club Brugge was badly needed after Milan lost their first two Champions League matches at home to Liverpool (3-1) and away to Leverkusen (1-0).

In team news, Bologna continue to be plagued by injuries with Nicolo Cambiaghi, Oussama El Azzouzi, Martin Erlik and Lewis Ferguson all missing.

Milan were left without Theo Hernandez and Tijani Reynders. Both are suspended.

Long absentees Ismael Bennacer and Alessandro Florenzi remain absent. But Tammy Abraham and Davide Calabria are available again.

Bologna – Milan: Betting Tips

Bologna is struggling. Last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Genoa will be seen as a defeat. And the performance at Villa Park did little to boost confidence.

Milan seem to be steadily improving. Their back-to-back wins will give them confidence and we think they are a good bet to get a second away win of the season and put more pressure on struggling Bologna manager Vincenzo Italiano. Our match betting tips are below:

Milan will win

Milan have lost two matches, drawn one and won one away in Serie A this season.

The defeats came to Parma (2-1) and Fiorentina (2-1).

A hard-earned point came away to Lazio in the third gameweek in a 2-2 draw, while Milan’s only away win came at their home stadium when they beat Inter in an away derby.

You might be thinking that this doesn’t mean I’m selling a road win, but there are a few things to consider.

First; Milan is improving. Their 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina may have been a gut-wrenching experience for their fans, but it was a sign that the Rossoneri are heading in the right direction.

They had 61% possession and had 16 shots on goal, eight of which were on target. Milan were better but lacked the killer instinct and that was what cost them the win. Another day, Milan confidently wins this match.

After this performance, Milan won their next two matches. So they will be more confident when they face Bologna.

Second; We’ve already covered this. Bologna are not doing well this season. They look superbly prepared to face an improving Milan side.

Take Milan back and win 21/20 with Midnite

Both teams will score

Both teams have scored in six of Bologna’s eleven matches in all competitions this season.

Scoreless defeats away to Liverpool and Aston Villa in the Champions League must be taken into account, while Bologna failed to score when they were well beaten by league leaders Napoli earlier in the season.

In Serie A, Bologna scored in six of their eight matches. At home they scored a goal in three of their four matches.

Milan have conceded on the road in all four of their Serie A matches. In all competitions, Milan have conceded in eight of their eleven matches. Both teams scored in seven of the eleven matches.

Milan seem to have their sights set on goal and they can’t keep a clean sheet on the road.

Support both teams and score 13/20 with Midnite

Christian Pulisic will score any time

Former Dortmund and Chelsea player Christian Pulisic has been in good form this season. The American international has five goals and three assists in Serie A and has also scored two goals in three Champions League matches.

Pulisic scored in the Champions League match against Club Brugge on Tuesday. He also provided an assist in the 1-0 win over Udinese and scored against Milan in their previous match against Fiorentina.

Pulisic scores goals and influences matches. He has a good chance of scoring again on Saturday at 5.11.

Pick Christian Pulisic to score at any time at 11/5 for Midnite.
