Aston Villa 1-1 Bournemouth: What Andoni Iraola said

Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola spoke to BBC Match of the Day after his team drew at Villa Park: “It’s always nice when you have a point at the end, in the last minute of the game. I don’t think we played well, but we competed well. We faced a very good team and they started better than us. it was difficult.

“We played better against Arsenal, but today we showed more character. Here you feel intimidated, it’s hard to survive, but we survived and achieved a draw.”

At the penalty kick his team shouts: “I don’t want to talk about the judges. I prefer not to talk. After the disqualification, I prefer to start with a clean slate.”

About the equalizer after a well-developed standard: “Especially with the goalkeeper – he claimed everything we put on the second post. Luckily the last goal was difficult to head but it was a great goal at a great moment.”

About Mark Travers’ performance: “He made really good saves and kept us in the game when we were down. Everyone stepped up and we finished much better.”
