Harris agrees to take cognitive test after Trump questions her IQ

vice president Kamala Harris said she would take a cognitive test to prove she was fit for the job and challenged the former president Donald Trump do the same.

Throughout her entire 2024 During the campaign, Harris, 60, stepped up attacks on Trump’s age and mental fitness for office. Earlier this month, she began openly calling the former president a “fascist” and calling him increasingly “crazy.”

“Don’t take it from me, listen to the people who know him best,” Harris said during interview Sunday with CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell in which she responded “of course” when asked about taking the test. “His former chiefs of staff. Most recently, four-star Marine General John Kelly. Listen to the two former secretaries of defense who worked for him, listen to his national security adviser, listen to his vice president, who everyone, one way or another, said he was no longer fit to be president and should never be president again. and it’s dangerous.”

Trump himself, 78, has often said that Harris has a low IQ.accusations that the vice president laughed in her CBS interview when asked directly.

“That’s what he’s resorted to, and I think what he’s actually doing is becoming increasingly unstable and frustrated and resorting to name-calling because he doesn’t really have a plan for the American people,” she responded.

With just over a week until Election Day on November 5, most polls show Harris with a slight lead over Trump nationally, but the pair remain tied in the seven states that will likely decide the election.

“This is a presidential race and it should be close,” Harris told CBS. “Honestly, I see a lot of enthusiasm around our campaign.”

HARRIS TRANSITION WILL NOT BE AN EASY PIE DESPITE GUIDANCE

The vice president will deliver his campaign speech on Tuesday at the Ellipse Stadium in Washington, the same location where Trump gave his Jan. 6, 2021, speech that preceded the Capitol riot.

Harris will also campaign in Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina and Pennsylvania this week, campaign officials said.
