The Missouri AM tower collapse was the third in a series of October incidents.

The tower, broadcasting a Missouri AM station, became the third to be destroyed in October after the 75-year-old structure collapsed on October 24. KRMO-AM 990 fall to the northwest, narrowly missing the transmitter housing.

According to Lawrence County RecordEagle Broadcasting co-owner Dewayne Gundy was mowing his lawn nearby when he witnessed the tower suddenly fall. The building, built in 1949, has recently undergone renovations. The agriculture-focused radio station continued broadcasting through its streaming service, and the station resumed local radio coverage while sharing tower access with sister station KSWM-AM 940 in Aurora, Missouri.

The Gandhis say they will rebuild the tower in the same place.

The collapse was the latest in a series of incidents that led to the destruction of the television tower.

October 11which was used to carry Cumulus Media’s NewsTalk KKOB-AM. The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said the balloon carrying three passengers landed safely in a nearby field.
