PARIS, October 28. /TASS/. The Ballon d’Or ceremony for the best football player according to France Football will take place on Monday. The event will take place at the Chatelet Theater in Paris at 22:15 Moscow time.

For the first time, the Ballon d’Or will be awarded jointly with UEFA. From 2010 to 2015, the award was presented by France Football magazine in collaboration with FIFA. Since 2016, there are two awards: according to the magazine and according to FIFA. In 2023, the Ballon d’Or was awarded to Argentinean Lionel Messi, who has eight such awards to his name.

For the first time since 2003, the list of nominees does not include either Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, who has won the award five times.

In 2024, only 30 players will be on the roster. On September 24, the Marca newspaper reported that the prize would be awarded to the Brazilian Vinicius. The favorites also include the Spanish players who won Euro 2024.
