Weather Today: IMD Warns of Heavy Rainfall in Goa, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and THESE States – Full Forecast Here – India News

The India Meteorological Department warned that heavy downpours will occur in isolated areas over sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Lakshadweep. Thunderstorms and lightning are expected to occur in Goa, East Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan, Tamil Nadu, Karaikal, Mahe and Puducherry from October 28 to 30. The IMD has also warned that Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Mahe, Puducherry and Lakshadweep will experience moderate rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning throughout this week. A similar weather pattern is likely to continue in Jammu Kashmir, Muzaffarbad, Gilgit and Ladakh during the same period.

Cyclone Dana Update

More than 50,000 houses have been damaged in the cyclone-hit Balasore, Bhadrak and Kendrapara districts of Odisha and they are yet to restore power supply in their areas. This was announced by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The Prime Minister noted that restoration work is at the final stage and the roads have been cleared of obstacles.

More than 8 thousand people were rescued and placed in 6,210 shelters. Several rivers overflowed due to Cyclone Dana causing heavy rainfall, especially in Bhadrak district. About 24 people were rescued from the flooded area.

Delhi weather update

The Meteorological Department has advised that Delhi is likely to experience clear skies on Monday. The minimum and maximum temperatures are expected to be around 20 and 34 degrees Celsius. Air quality in the capital has returned to the “very poor” category. Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) rose to 355 by 4 pm on Sunday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Intense levels of pollution were reported in areas such as Burari, Bawana and Jahangirpuri. Similarly, air quality was recorded as ‘very poor’ in Noida, Faridabad, Gurugram and Ghaziabad.
