Nick Bosa he wore a RESID3NCY San Francisco cap at the postgame press conference. However, one of the questions he faced was about a different hat he had been wearing a few minutes earlier.

During NBC’s post-game interview with George Kittle, Brock PurdyAnd Isaac GerendoBosa briefly interrupted the plot by wearing a white “Make America Great Again” hat with gold lettering, making it clear who he supports in the upcoming presidential election.

“Okay, Nick Bosa with a message,” Melissa Stark said as Bosa walked out, showing off his hat.

Bosa no longer wore a hat when speaking to Bay Area reporters. When asked why he chose this moment to make a political statement, specifically showing support for Republican candidate Donald Trump, Bosa replied: “I’m not going to say too much about it, but I think it’s an important time.”

Bosa has been reluctant to share his political views publicly since being drafted by the 49ers. Ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, he even deleted previous tweets supporting Trump. When asked then why he did it, Bosa replied: “I had to. There’s a chance I could end up in San Francisco.”

The 49ers selected Bosa with the second overall pick in this draft.

Clearly, Bose is now more comfortable speaking his mind and was asked if he has been more tempted to do so in recent years.

“It’s definitely a little easier now,” Bosa said with a smile. “But no, I don’t really want to do it. It’s just a different climate.”

Trump will compete against Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. The 49ers are entering their bye week and won’t play again until after the election.
