Members of the opposition leave the meeting of the Waqf Commission

Several opposition members walked out of the Joint Committee meeting on the Waqf Amendment Bill on Monday protesting against the presentation made by the Delhi Waqf Board.

Opposition members said that the administrator of the Delhi Waqf Board, who appeared before the committee, made changes in the presentation without the knowledge of the Delhi government.

AAP member Sanjay Singh, DMK member Mohammed Abdullah, Congress MP Nasir Hussain and Mohamed Javed among others walked out of the meeting.

Opposition members alleged that MCD Commissioner and Delhi Waqf Board Administrator Ashwini Kumar completely changed the original report of the Waqf Board without the approval of the Chief Minister.
