Poll finds strong public support for Prabowo – 85.3% – Politics

Ollster Indikator Politik Indonesia released new data regarding public expectations of Prabowo Subianto’s administration, showing that 85.3 percent of respondents believe he can lead Indonesia to a better future.

Burhanuddin Muhtadi, a pollster, noted that the public had high hopes and confidence in Prabowo.

He called high expectations a honeymoon phenomenon, but warned that this strong belief could be a double-edged sword for the president.

“If Prabowo does not live up to public expectations, the resulting disappointment will be significant,” he was quoted as saying on Sunday. Liputan6.com.

Burhanuddin said 86.5 percent of respondents are aware of the program, attributing this high awareness to extensive outreach efforts.

“Support is very high at 77 percent, although this is slightly lower than public confidence in Prabowo at 85 percent,” he was quoted as saying. mediaindonesia.com.

The Free Nutritious Meal Program is at the forefront of the Prabowo administration’s initiatives to address stunting and improve human resources and quality of life.

However, Burhanuddin warned that the high support for the program could backfire if it is not implemented effectively.

“If the program is not successfully implemented, it could undermine public confidence in Prabowo,” he said.

However, he believed that if Prabowo could demonstrate effective management of the program, public confidence would remain intact even if the program was not rolled out immediately.

Burhanuddin said public support for Prabowo was bolstered by his coalition with supporters of his predecessor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

“The situation is a little different now because Prabowo was elected partly due to the Jokowi effect,” he said.

“So when Prabowo was elected president, especially with Jokowi’s son (Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka), Jokowi’s supporters felt confident in Prabowo.”
