One man was injured in a shooting early Saturday morning, police said.

The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a shooting early Saturday morning near the intersection of Hudson Street and West Palmer Avenue.

According to a TPD press release, officers were in the area at 1:13 a.m. when they heard gunshots. The crowd fled the area and they soon found evidence of gunfire but no victims.

The hotel is within walking distance of businesses on South Monroe Street and the Florida A&M University campus.

Officers soon learned that a man had arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg, the report said.

As of Monday morning, no arrests had been made and the investigation remains open and active.

The incident was at least the 54th serious shooting in the capital and region this year. According to an analysis of gun violence by Tallahassee Democrats.In 2024, 21 people were killed and 44 people were injured.
