Why I Think Big Sofia Cliffhanger from Penguin Won’t Play the Way Some Fans Expect

Penguin left us with a thrilling cliffhanger in the final seconds of episode six, and we’ve reached a moment that could have a big impact on the future character dynamics in Batman: Part II. As Sofia Gigante looks to finally get revenge on Oz for putting her in prison, I have a feeling the final scene won’t play out as deadly as some viewers are expecting.

We’re still reeling from (if perhaps still celebrating) Johnny Ziti’s performance. amazing and powerful deathand it looks like there may be another major character on the horizon. And not just in the sense that the show ends soon and everyone leaves. Let’s take stock of where the Golden Summit left off and why I think it’s heading in a different direction than others think.

Sofia found Oz’s apartment where Francis and Victor lived

With the help of Oz’s friend Eva Carlo, Sofia found the apartment where Oswald, Francis and Victor lived in Crown Point. We see a crowbar in her hand and she is seen standing in the doorway watching Victor and Francis dance, unaware of her presence. Meanwhile, Oswald meets with the heads of rival gangs on the other side of town, completely unaware of how his life could change.

Sophia hanging out in the doorway gives the impression that bad things are coming, especially since we know what she’s capable of. Of course, she wasn’t actually the Executioner, but we saw her. cruelly kill a magpie and to fill the rest of her relatives with Falcone, in order to get rid of any competition to her claims to the post of head of the family. It seems obvious then that she would like to kill Francis to get revenge on Oz, but is she really going to do it? Quite a lot on X I think I think so:

Sofia seems ready to do something in the next episode. Penguinbut I’m not sure what exactly. While I cannot rule out Francis’ violent death, I think there is another possibility we should consider.

Why I think Sophia won’t kill Francis

While killing Francis would devastate Oswald and be the perfect revenge for Sofia Gigante, I can’t help but think she’ll turn down the opportunity to kill his mother. After all, she knows the pain of losing her mother, and I think the trauma of that will make her afraid to kill someone she already thought was dead.

I also think that by showing Sofia with a crowbar, Penguin drops a major Easter egg for fans of the Batman mythos. The crowbar played a vital role in one of the most brutal deaths in superhero comics when the Joker beat former Robin Jason Todd to death with it. There was a shocking moment last mentioned live on Batman v Supermanand was canceled recently Robin is alive! alternate history comic arc, and I think it might indirectly influence all of this.

Victor Aguilar looks like Robin Oswald, and I think the crowbar is hinting that Sofia will end up beating him to death, leaving Francis unharmed. Sofia may not know the full extent of Victor and Oz’s partnership, but she knows enough to know that Victor is important to her former driver. It sucks to even type because I love Victor Renzi Felis as much as the Rich Knight CinemaBlend yes, but I think his death will be the most impactful event in this series. I hope I’m wrong and maybe Sofia will end up sparing both of them, but I doubt that will happen.

Penguin airs on HBO Sundays at 9:00 pm ET. I think everyone watching can’t wait to see how the next episode ends, so I’m hoping the week flies by and we get to see what Sophia does.
