Join Virginia City in celebrating Nevada’s 160th birthday, just as the state’s founders did, at the annual Nevada Statehood Ball on Saturday, November 2nd from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Held at the Piper Opera House, this elegant evening honors Nevada’s heritage and invites Attendees to celebrate together while enjoying live music by the Renegade Orchestra, light appetizers and dancing.

Doors will open at 18:30. Guests are strongly advised to wear formal 19th century or contemporary clothing. Find out more information and purchase tickets to the event here.

“We are thrilled to celebrate our state, its history and the amazing cultures that helped shape Nevada through the Statehood Ball,” said Todd Tuttle, Director of Tourism. “In addition to fantastic live music, food, dancing and more, this is a night to recognize our state’s storied history and bright future.”

The Nevada Independence Ball is a cherished tradition that brings the community together to celebrate the Silver State’s journey from its mining roots to modern prosperity. In addition to historical music performed by the Renegade Orchestra, the event gives participants the opportunity to take part in popular Victorian dances; like a favorite historical drama. No prior dance experience is necessary as participants will be accompanied by a dance master.

In addition, a photographer will be present throughout the evening with a historical camera, taking photographs on handcrafted metal known as tintypes. Guests wishing to pose and purchase a tintype are advised to reserve their spot in advance via the link on the ticketing platform as appointments are limited.
