Nick Kyrgios claims the pyramids weren’t built by humans and the Earth may have been flat

Nick Kyrgios said in his latest interview that he believes it is “impossible” that the pyramids were built by humans, and also repeated other conspiracy theories.

Having played just one tennis singles match in two years, Kyrgios was forced to spend time away from the tennis court due to knee, foot and wrist injuries.

In an interview with Louis Theroux on his podcast, Kyrgios, 29, was asked about conspiracy theories, including whether he believes the pyramids were built by humans.

“No, I don’t know. “It’s impossible,” Kyrgios replied.

When told of the possible method by which they could be built from logs and blocks, he said: “This is madness. The fact that how is it possible that they made all the measurements correct and they are all aligned. And they did it by rolling large rocks over logs—an insane claim. Why are the doors so big? For example, who needs to go through doors if they are so big? I don’t know who it was. I just don’t think we were capable of it. It’s 2024 and we can’t even get along. And you think we built pyramids? You’re crazy. This is crazy.”

In a subsequent discussion about whether the Earth is round, Kyrgios said: “I would probably be inclined to say it is round, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if it was the other way around.”

When he was then asked a question about the moon landing, Kyrgios first said he had “thoughts” and then turned to Theroux, asking whether the podcast host believed “the Americans did (land) first?”

Kyrgios has seven ATP Tour singles titles and has reached 11 finals, including the Wimbledon final in 2022, when he lost in four sets to Novak Djokovic.

But since reaching a career-high world ranking of 13th in 2016, just three years after turning professional, he has suffered a series of injuries and also become a controversial figure in the sport.

In February 2023, Kyrgios admitted that he attacked his ex-girlfriendand he started an OnlyFans page while in rehab. But he has also made moves into broadcasting, appearing behind the microphone at a number of tournaments, including most recently Wimbledon.

Kyrgios opened up in the Netflix documentary Breakpoint (released in 2023) revealing that he was admitted to a mental health unit after Wimbledon in 2019 and detailed his mental health issues.

He showed self-harm and other problemsbut also talked about his drinking. He explained how he would have “20 or 30 drinks” in one night and then “just wake up and play Rafael Nadal the next day.”

Kyrgios has hinted that he may be planning to return to tennis in time for him to compete at the Australian Open in 2025.
