Telangana CSO warns TGSP police officers and their relatives against posting provocative messages on social media

While TGSP workers staged protests across the state on Saturday, their family members and relatives have been demanding a ‘one police’ policy similar to that of Tamil Nadu for the past few days.

This would allow them to be drafted into regular law enforcement positions, giving them access to the same benefits and career advancement as their peers. Previously, TGSP employees were allowed leave every 15 days, but the new management has increased this interval to 26 days.

21 police officers prosecuted for indiscipline

On Monday, two cases were registered at the Domalguda police station against 21 TGSP personnel for violating Section 163 BNSS (formerly Section 144 IPC) and participating in a protest at Dharna Chowk earlier in the day, the ADG, TGSP and Sanjay Kumar Jain said in a statement.

All employees were also issued show cause notices. The cases were registered under Sections 223, 126(2) of the BNS, Section 3 of the Police (Incitement to Discontent) Act 1922 and Section 4 of the Police Forces (Limitation of Rights) Act 1966, which mention offenses including incitement to discontent and acts of disobedience within disciplined forces.

In addition, these employees have been issued show cause notices for misconduct and insubordination under Article 311(2)(b), the press release said, adding that the actions of the personnel pose a significant threat to public interest and safety and asking, why staff should not be fired.
