New Jersey Lottery prizes exceed million, highlighted by a million win.

TRENTON — New Jersey Lottery players won more than $7 million last week, with a $4 million prize in Salem County topping a list of 29 big payouts statewide, according to lottery officials.

The biggest win came from a 200X Cash Blitz ticket purchased at the Sunoco Foodmart on Chestnut Street in Elmer. This $30 scratch game launched in August and features three $4 million top prizes, with only two remaining after the last win. Another big Scratch-Off prize was awarded in Trenton on Oct. 24 when a Platinum Payout ticket sold at the Wawa on Flock Road netted the buyer $1 million. The Platinum Payout game launched in February with three $1 million prizes; There is only one main prize left.

The platinum winner spoke of his surprise upon realizing the full scope of the prize. “I always play differently,” the player said. “When I first saw that I won, I thought, ‘Okay. Maybe $10,000? Amazing.’ But then I realized it was $1 million.” The player emphasized a cautious approach to capturing the windfall, adding: “The money goes away quickly, so you have to be careful.”

The draws also contributed to last week’s overall prize pool. Two tickets split the $861,944 Jersey Cash 5 jackpot on Oct. 21, each taking home $430,972. The winning tickets were sold at Krauszer’s Liquor in Pompton Plains, Passaic County, and Country Lakes Pub and Grill in Browns Mills, Burlington County. One winner expressed excitement over the windfall, saying, “We’re just people, but we’ve always wanted that big check,” adding that the prize money will go toward savings and home renovations.

These recent wins come as the New Jersey Lottery continues to offer large jackpots and high-stakes scratch prizes, with many top prizes still unclaimed.
