Who is participating in Santa Cruz Warriors training camp?

SANTA CRUZ – The Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, have announced their training camp roster in preparation for the 2024-25 NBA League season. The camp began on Monday and will last until November 7.

Santa Cruz, led by second-year head coach Nick Kerr, will host the Valley Suns in their season opener at Kaiser Permanente Arena on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.

Three two-way players from Golden State are in attendance: guard Reece Beekman (6-foot-1, 198 pounds) from the University of Virginia, guard Pat Spencer (6-3, 205) from Northwestern and Dutch center Quinten Post. (7-0, 250) from Boston College.

There’s one more center in the Santa Cruz camp, and it’s another 7-footer, Seth Maxwell (7-0, 240) of Indiana Wesleyan, who was selected in the 2024-25 G League draft on Saturday.

There are two other draft picks available: forwards Divine Eke (6-8, 205) from Radford and Tommy Rutherford (6-8, 240) from UC Irvine.

The Warriors have nine guards in camp, including Beekman and Spencer. They held the rights to return five of them: Yuri Collins (6-0, 190) from St. Louis, defensive end Jimmy Whitt (6-3, 175) from Arkansas, Marcus Burke (6-3, 205) from IUPUI, Joey Calcaterra (6-3, 180) from UConn and Armon Fletcher (6-5, 205) from SIU-Carbondale.

Other guards in camp include fellow punter Blake Hinson (6-7, 235) of Pittsburgh and Tyrell Roberts (5-11, 175), who emerged from local tryouts after being named first-team West Coast Conference. pick in San Francisco last season.

Including Eke and Rutherford, the Warriors have six forwards in the camp. They held the rights to return three of them: Javan Johnson (6-6, 198) of DePaul, Kevin Knox II (6-7, 215) of Kentucky and Canadian Jackson Rowe (6-7, 210) of Cal State Fullerton. Fellow player Donta Scott (6-8, 230) of Maryland rounds out the roster for the camp.

Fletcher, who turns 29 on Nov. 19, is the oldest player in camp. Beekman, who turned 23 on Oct. 8, is the youngest.
