The Level 2 evacuation issued near Cottage Grove has been lifted.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) has canceled a LEVEL 2 Evacuation Notice near Cottage Grove on Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Cooler, wetter weather allowed firefighters to respond quickly to keep the fire from reaching homes and critical infrastructure.

Lane County sheriff’s deputies and Oregon State Police also assisted firefighters yesterday using thermal imaging from drones to see fire activity through the smoke.

Residents are asked to sign up for emergency alerts on the website LaneAlerts.org.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Level 2 (TBD) evacuation notice for the following area near Cottage Grove due to a wildfire:

Areas west of Highway 99 between River Road and W. Saginaw Road, including Abbott Lane.

Grimes Road area

Level 2 means: You must be ready to leave at any time, and this may be the only notice you receive.
