Monster Hunter Wilds will have a spider-free mode for those who suffer from arachnophobia

Don’t like spiders, your concerns are noted. At least from Capcom. Developers Wild Monster Hunters The upcoming animal skin RPG is including an option that will turn all the arachnid-style monsters into something much less creepy and/or creepy.

The “no spiders” option was noticed by PlayStation Plus beta test players (as noted by from Automaton). In the accessibility settings it’s called “Arachnophobia Help” and says, “Changes the appearance of multi-legged creatures such as arachnids, insect-like little monsters, and endemic life.” The description also notes that this will not change the difficulty or “creature movement.”

So how does he cope with eight-legged monsters? They become slimeCertainly. As Automaton notes, only small monsters are taken into account for now. It’s unclear how the larger monsters with spider legs will change, if at all. What can even be considered “arachnid”? When your game is full of hybrid creatures that draw inspiration from a wide variety of wildlife, it can be difficult to determine where a phobia occurs.

Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t the first game to do this kind of thing. Even this week Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 came out with Arachnophobia mode in the zombie campaign. Meanwhile, a scaled-down survival game Grounded has extensive arachnophobia mode this allows you to turn off or on every single element of what makes a spider scary. For example, you can get rid of the legs, but keep the fangs. Or just turn it into a harmless pair of spheres.

Monster Hunter Wilds Beta for PC won’t be available on Steam until October 31stso we won’t be able to explore the monstrous wilderness ourselves just yet. But if you do play, you’ll be able to import your character when the full game releases on February 28 next year (however, Capcom says actual progress from the game’s first chapter won’t be saved).
