Father Hennepin State Park opens Friday

Father Hennepin State Park will reopen Friday after being closed for nearly two months.

Father Hennepin State Park has been closed since Sept. 3 so its wastewater system could be replaced.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources said the project connected the park’s system to the city of Isle’s municipal wastewater system, replacing the park’s own system.

The department explained that the park’s system had reached the end of its useful life, leading to the changes.

Park opening hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Although the park will reopen, the ranger station and campgrounds are closed for the season and will not reopen until mid-April 2025.
