Bahamas judge revokes bail for US beauty queen in murder of ex-NFL husband

A Bahamas judge has revoked bail for Lindsey Shiver, accused of conspiracy to hire a hitman murder her ex-husband, former NFL player Robert Shiver, with the help of her alleged Bahamian lover.

Judge Cheryl Grant-Thompson reportedly revoked bail for 37-year-old Linsday Shiver and 30-year-old Terrence Bethel due to their recent publicity in the case, the Caribbean outlet reported. Cycle news.

Shiver, along with his lover Bethel and alleged hitman Faron Newbold Jr. were arrested in the Bahamas in July 2023. They pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The Shivers reached a boiling point after 13 years of marriage, as evidenced by divorce filings: Robert accused Lindsay of having an affair, and Lindsay responded with accusations of “physical and mental abuse,” including accusations of domestic violence.

Last December, Grant-Thompson released Lindsey, who has three children, on $100,000 bail and allowed her to return to the United States under certain conditions, one of which Shiver apparently violated in her television interview.

“This cannot and will not be tolerated. What the defendants did can be seen by the complainant as spitting in the face of justice,” Grant-Thompson wrote in a statement Monday, according to Loop News.

“The applicant argued that this could influence the opinions of potential jurors intending to participate in this trial. Thus, potentially influencing the administration of justice. Shiver’s lawyers reportedly argued that she did not violate conditions of detention, which the judge disagreed with.

“It was made clear that if Ms. Shiver wished to move or travel outside the designated area, she must first contact the court and request permission,” the judge wrote in her order, adding that her decision to revoke bail was according to Loop News, she also had to get Shiver “out of danger” after another guy tried to “smother her with a pillow in Alabama.”

In body camera footage previously obtained by Fox News Digital, Lindsay called 911 on Robert on July 16, 2023, after he refused to let her ride on their private jet to meet her lover in Bahamas.

That same day, she allegedly wrote “Kill him” in whatsapp message to Newbold. Five days later, she was arrested in the Bahamas along with Bethel and Newbold for conspiracy to murder Robert.

Robert told the judge he was “thankful to be alive” during a December 2023 court appearance where he appeared via Zoom, Court TV previously reported.
