Two boys arrested for stabbing shopkeeper 10 times for scolding him | Latest Delhi News

Two minors stabbed to death a 36-year-old man after he scolded them and asked them not to hang around his shop in west Delhi’s Moti Nagar on Sunday evening, police said. Two minors were detained,” police said.

The victim was stabbed at least 10 times in the incident, which happened around 11 p.m., police said. The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Iqbal, a resident of Uttam Nagar.

“At that time (when he was closing the shop) he saw two boys hanging around outside his shop and asked them to leave. This led to an argument between them and these boys stabbed Iqbal several times. When Iqbal called for help, his nephew rushed to the scene and took him to a private hospital along with a neighbor. Iqbal was declared dead,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer said.

Police said the control room received a call regarding a stabbing near a shop at Chara Mandi in Zaheer. When the police reached the spot, they were informed that a man named Iqbal, who ran a mobile phone repair, accessories and charging shop in Moti Nagar, was stabbed by unknown boys. They said his nephew Abdul Mobeen and neighbor Samshuddin took him to the hospital.

Iqbal’s body was then shifted to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for post-mortem examination and later handed over to the family for last rites.

Police said a murder case has been registered at Moti Nagar police station and local informants have been roped in to identify the accused.

The attackers were identified and two minors, aged 17, were arrested from Moti Nagar on Monday. “During interrogation, it turned out that Iqbal had previously scolded them for loitering around the store, for which they already harbored a grudge against him. On Sunday, when Iqbal scolded him, they stabbed him to death in a fit of rage,” said an investigator who wished to remain anonymous.
