Salma Hayek feels ‘pressure’ to make money despite marriage to billionaire

Salma Hayek is an independent woman.

The Frida star openly spoke about her motivation to earn money on her own despite her husband François-Henri Pinault’s family’s billion-dollar fortune.

“I support many aspects of my life and myself,” the actress said in an interview. WSJ interview. Magazine published on Tuesday.

“I have a need to earn a certain amount of money, and I like it. And now I decided that I want to earn more.”

Hayek, 58, also revealed that she and her husband keep their finances “separate,” although “there is no prenuptial agreement to divide assets.”

She said the 62-year-old French businessman admires her work ethic.

“I think he finds it sexy,” she said.

The star of the “House of Gucci” – who shares daughter Valentina17 years old, with Pino – also said that she is considering several ideas for joint ventures with the teenager.

According to the publication, Hayek was born into a wealthy family due to the fact that her father was the head of an oil company, but he lost his fortune when she was 20 years old.

The Mexican-born actress then moved to Los Angeles and eventually became the breadwinner for her family back home.

“That’s when I became the best version of myself,” she said.

After her wedding to Pinault, who is CEO of luxury retail group Kering, Hayek recalled that people always wanted to discuss money.

“For me, the thrill of having a lot of money was that I didn’t have to think about money, and it turned out that all people wanted to talk to me about was money,” Hayek said.

The Eternals star also noted that other rich people wanted to be friends with her simply because of her bank account.

“I have strangers come to me who aren’t even friends but think we should be friends because they’re rich too,” she said.

Earlier this year, on April 25, Hayek and Pinault celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary.

Actress celebrated a milestone on Instagram with a carousel of photos from their special day.

“There are no words to explain the happiness of finding your soulmate,” she wrote in the caption.
