RTC offers free rides on Election Day

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Washoe County RTC will be offering free transit to residents on Election Day on November 5th.

“Public transportation is a convenient way to get to your chosen polling place,” said Jim Gee, RTC Director of Public Transportation. “With the Transit app, you can even set a reminder on your phone for when you need to get off to catch the bus.”

“At Keolis, we know how important transportation is to millions of Americans, whether it’s getting to the doctor, grocery shopping or commuting to work,” said Don Swain, general manager of Keolis Reno division. “Ridership has increased over the last three elections and our team is proud to play an important role in helping riders exercise their right to vote. We look forward to transporting passengers safely and securely to the voting booths.”

While rides will be offered, RTC says not all polling places will be served by RTC Transit.
