Ocala residents enjoy free SunTran rides on Try Transit Tuesday

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – It was a day of free rides in Ocala.

SunTran rides were free Tuesday until 10 p.m. as part of Florida Department of Transportation Mobility Week.

State transportation leaders say this week residents will be able to get outside and find new ways to get around the city.

“So Mobility Week is an annual event where we encourage people in the community to get out and get moving, which means walking, hiking, biking, using the SunTran for public transportation, just to feel like there’s mobility available and easy getting around the city,” said Ocala public relations specialist Ashley Dobbs.

City leaders encouraged residents to try the SunTran bus system as part of Transit Tuesday.
