This prestigious award was presented by the AEON Foundation and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). Voronova was recognized during the official awards ceremony at the Conference of the Parties (COP 16) of the CBD on October 29 in Cali, Colombia.

Its conservation initiatives support the recovery of endangered mammals, protect vital migration routes, and preserve the Central Asian Flyway. These projects have also had a positive impact on local communities by creating jobs, increasing livelihoods, educating youth and facilitating international partnerships.

The MIDORI Prize highlights the comprehensive approach of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and its 23 goals to be achieved by 2030. Award winners receive a commemorative gift and plaque, as well as a cash prize of US$100,000 to support their work to protect biodiversity.
