Shreveport police arrest two for illegal possession of firearms

The Shreveport Police Department’s Violent Crimes Abatement Team (VCAT) successfully seized an additional number of illegal firearms, demonstrating SPD’s ongoing commitment to improving public safety and reducing gun violence in our community.

On October 28, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., VCAT officers responded to information of persons illegally possessing firearms at the Stone Vista Apartments located at 541 E. Stoner Ave., Shreveport, Louisiana.

During the course of the investigation, VCAT staff identified and approached 23-year-old Reginald Alexanderwho was found standing in front of an apartment building. Police found a firearm hidden under Alexander’s armpit. After further investigation, officers determined that Alexander, a convicted felon currently on probation for aggravated assault with a firearm, was in illegal possession of the weapon. He was subsequently arrested for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

While at the scene, VCAT members also interviewed a resident of a nearby apartment. 17-year-old Corodelro Robinson. Robinson was found to be in possession of a firearm, despite the fact that he is legally prohibited from owning one due to his age. He was arrested for illegal possession of a firearm by a minor. Robinson’s booking photo is currently unavailable.

The Shreveport Police Department continues to remain steadfast in its mission to seize firearms from individuals who are prohibited by law from possessing them. This operation is part of SPD’s broader strategy to create safer communities for all residents.
