Kareena Kapoor and I are very close to working together: director Mudassar Aziz

Writer, director and producer Mudassar Aziz, known for directing films like Happy Bhaag Jayegi and Khel Khel Mein, exclusively spoke to India Today Digital about his upcoming projects. He shared news about the sequel of Pati and Patni Aur Woh and expressed his desire to collaborate with Kareena Kapor, whom he admires for her craft.

“I am currently working on the sequel to Pati, Patni Aur Woh. I’m really looking forward to the second part of this film,” he told us during an interview. He further added, “It may be too early to go into details about the plot of the film at this point, but all I can say with certainty is that audiences who enjoy commercial cinema will really enjoy this film too. The star cast of the film has not yet been announced, but we are all looking forward to introducing it to all of you.”

Aziz also expressed keen interest in working with Kareena Kapoor Khan in the near future. “Bebo and I have come a long way. She has a special connection with me. In fact, Karina herself knows how much I admire her skill and the person she is. I’ve been meaning to work with her for a long time, and she knows it. We’ve been very close to working together a couple of times, and this time I hope we can do it. She’s a superstar and she’s definitely on my list of actors I’d like to direct,” the director said.

Talking about his current projects, Aziz shared, “I am also working on a script that will have the biggest ensemble cast of stars and superstars. After Khel Khel Maina, I told myself that I will now write a script with a maximum of two lead actors. But then eventually, knowing myself, when I sit down to write, it turns into a movie that will have a huge cast. I also want to work with many people – among them Salman Khan, the legendary Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. I feel like I want to keep working on stories so that someday we can collaborate and offer our audience something very interesting.”

Mudassar Aziz’s latest directorial Khel Khel Mein was released in theaters on August 15 and went on to beat Vedaa and Stree 2 at the box office. The film achieved success after its release on Netflix.
