Justice has prevailed: Vikas is sentenced for a serious crime against a minor

The Gautam Buddha Nagar court, in a landmark decision, sentenced a man named Vikas to 10 years in prison for raping a minor girl in 2018. The conviction was passed by the Special Additional Sessions Judge under the POCSO Act with an additional fine of Rs 40,000.

The incident took place in 2018 when Vikas kidnapped a girl while she was on her way to school, subjecting her to repeated attacks over several months during his captivity. The case came to light when the Badalpur police successfully rescued the girl and arrested the accused, leading to the filing of charges.

After exhaustive testimony from witnesses and doctors, the court finally found Vikas guilty. Notably, he faces a further seven months in prison if he fails to pay the imposed fine, ensuring that justice is served for his heinous actions.
