Kilgore Road will be closed until April due to sinkhole repairs.

KILGORE, Texas (KLTV) – Starting Wednesday, a Kilgore road will be closed for several months in preparation for repairs to a sinkhole.

Post Oak Road is being closed out of an abundance of caution after a large sinkhole was discovered, the city posted on Facebook. The hole was found near a creek crossing about 2,000 feet east of Highway 42, the report said.

The report said the hole was caused by a collapsed storm drain pipe under the road. They said renovation plans are underway and construction is expected to begin in a few months. They say the road will remain closed until April 2025 while work continues.
