Donnie Wahlberg deeply grateful for Blue blood. The New Kids on the Block singer takes his final bow (or this?) as Danny Reagan in Blue bloodthe latest season, which now airs on Fridays on the channel CBSalong with his co-stars Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estesand much more. Wahlberg stopped by the TV Insider offices to review the new issue of TV Guide Magazine. Blue blood special issue, our farewell to a long-term procedure.

The actor gets emotional as he explores the topic in the video interview above, reflecting on his childhood reading of TV Guide magazine.

“There are times in life when something happens that puts your life in perspective, not just your job or career,” Wahlberg says. “This last episode Blue blood – and this! I remember going to the grocery store with my mom as a child and seeing the TV Guide at the checkout counter and wanting to buy it, but we couldn’t afford it. We were able to buy only those products that we could, and nothing extra came into our house. And now I’m on the cover of a special edition, and I’ve been working on it. I’m next to the guy from Magnum PIwhich I grew up with.”

He continues, “Not only does it put the show in perspective, but it also puts into perspective how lucky we all are on the show (in perspective). I’m sure the entire cast and crew worked most of their lives to be a part of something that could be at least part of that success. To see it and learn how much it means to so many people across the country and the world from this little kid who couldn’t even read about it. Magnum, private detective because we couldn’t afford for TV Guide to now be on the cover next to him playing his son for 14 years – I dreamed of a lot of things as a kid, but this is beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of.”

Wahlberg says he’s “very grateful for the journey” and is “not sad” that it’s coming to an end. “I’m just incredibly grateful,” he shares. But that’s not the only thing Blue blood He graced the cover of TV Guide magazine’s fourteenth and final season. He and a colleague Marisa Ramirez there’s also a cover of Danny and Baez. Wahlberg reveals what it means to him to see Ramirez, whom he calls “one of (his) closest friends,” on her first TV Guide cover.

“It meant a lot to me to see her on the cover because there are so many characters in the show that make it better. It’s not just the Reagans,” Wahlberg explains. “There are so many other characters, and I think having her on the cover with me speaks to our friendship, our partnership, and also the importance of other actors whose last name is not Reagan. Marisa worked tirelessly, like everyone else and many other actors. To me, she doesn’t just represent herself on that cover, she represents the rest of the cast.”
