Lee’s Summit art exhibit will benefit suburban domestic violence shelter

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO (KCTV) – A shelter for those healing from domestic violence has been announced as a beneficiary of the annual Lee’s Summit craft show.

IBD sharesorganizer of several different metro art shows, announced Wednesday, Oct. 30, that its annual holiday fine arts and crafts show will benefit House of Hope in 2024. On November 1st and 2nd, vendors and customers will be offering donations and gifts to House of Hope for women and children who may be healing from abuse.

Keith and Wanda Davenport, event directors, said: House of Hope this is the passion of love. Each year the organization provides a free holiday store for women and children who provide their services. All gifts are donated by individuals, schools, organizations, churches, etc.

“Everyone deserves a happy holiday, including those healing from domestic violence,” event organizers said.

All donations made during the show will be placed on the Pavilion stage. This year, officials noted that visitors will also see more work by fine artists, including drawings, paintings, photographs, metal, glass, resin and fabric art, books, baked goods, ceramics, jewelry and more.

Organizers said admission is free, but food and drinks will be available for purchase. The show will begin at the John Knox Village Pavilion, 520 NW Murray Rd., in Lee’s Summit from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. .
